Where we come from

Starship Systems was established by company managing director, Herman van Heerden, in 2002 when he realised that he could do more and add more value by doing things his way instead of working within the confines of a corporate structure. With his post graduate degrees in computer sciences and project management providing a solid theoretical background and his determination and will to challenge the accepted providing the gusto, he launched Starship Systems – a company that boldly goes.

Starship Systems was selected as part of the Softstart and Godisa Incubation Hub and despite its humble start, survived long enough for its own-developed product range, NEBULA, to become the core focus of the business.

What we do

Starship Systems provides, implements and supports a range of smart business servers for virtual and physical environments.
 
We have partnered with leading vendors in order to provide local companies with the most robust technologies. We work to ensure seamless integration of business technologies, bridging the gaps regardless of platform, so that companies can get the business edge out of their technology.

Starship Systems has also developed a number of innovative tools under its NEBULA product range to streamline the interoperability of the server systems we offer. We have recently launched an innovative CPU clustering solution for virtual ecosystems. All our products and code are built to expand to enterprise size. This means that small, medium and large enterprises are able to expand their IT infrastructures as their business and computing needs grow – without significant cost increases.

Our virtualisation offering covers everything from the ground up. We consult, we design and we provide and implement the real-time operating systems required for optimum virtual server execution. We also offer speed certification and provide training on virtual systems. Because our service is end-to-end, we are with our clients from start to finish.

We strive to be on the crest of new technological trends. This ensures that we are always able to get the balance right between the “latest and greatest” and solid, stable business solutions. Our emphasis on providing contingency in IT is visible in everything we do.
